We were delighted and touched to hear from Dan and Claire after their recent engagement. 

Dan came to us with a brief of helping him with a surprise proposal whilst finding a way to enable Claire to have input into the ring's design. As fortune would have it, we have the perfect solution for this type of situation, and it's called a "Diamond In A Box". 

Once Dan explained the background of his story, we just had to help him make it happen. 

We think it's best if you hear the story behind the engagement from Claire herself. 

 

"I had childhood cancer twice when I was a child, and due to the chemo and radiotherapy I now suffer with several health conditions including heart faliure which was diagnosed in March 2020.

In May 2020 I became very unwell due to an abscess on one of my ovaries. I was rushed into hospital, where it was touch and go. Dan had to have some serious conversations with me regarding my wishes.

Whilst we were having these serious discussions (I was dilerious due to sepsis and another very rare bug) he told me if I make it through this he will propose. I told him he had to do it properly as you do.

I was then carted down for major surgery with only a small chance of survival, but I did the impossible and came through it. I was placed on life support for 3 days, spent over a week in ICU and a further 3 weeks in hospital recovering. 

Through this process, Dan came up with the idea of purchasing the Diamond to propose with.

The day I was released from the hospital, he had prepared our Summer house/home bar with rose petals and a dozen roses.

He kept trying to get me out to the shed ( I was completely oblivious and just wanted to cwtch up on the sofa.

He finally persuaded me, and once I came in, he got down on one knee and asked the question, to which I said Yes! (maybe she'd a tear or two) lol.

A few months later, we came in and met the lovely Director - Kelvin and agreed on a design for the ring".
