Pear
Perhaps one of the most emotive shaped stones after the heart shaped diamond, the Pear is a combination of the Marquise and round diamond. With 58 facets it offers good sparkle along with the illusion of size.
The “shoulders and wings” are the curves on the upper and lower side of the diamond. These should form perfect curves with no straight lines.
Narrow, pear shaped diamonds are popular for drop earrings.
