Oval
Created in the 1960s, the Oval diamond is a development of the brilliant round, giving the wearer fire with a more stand out look.
The Oval diamond creates the illusion of size, looking large from the face-up position and offers more sparkle that the Marquise diamond.
The “bow-tie” effect can also be detected in Oval diamonds. This again can be avoided by selecting stones with good symmetry, which are not too deep or shallow.
